Matthew Stanton | Founder
Orginally from Spokane, Washington, Matt Stanton has been drawn to metalworks from a young age. He has always been pulled to smoke billowing from a forge, melting metal, and the smell of burning oil and cutting fluid.
After earning his Associate’s Degree in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Automation from Spokane Community College, Matt spent more than a decade working in the hospitality industry in San Diego and San Francisco. He is a co-founder of El Dorado Cocktail Lounge in San Diego and has worked behind the bar at some of the West Coast’s most celebrated spots.
In 2018, he relocated to Marin with his wife and returned to his passion for welding and metal fabrication. For years, he worked with an East Oakland fabricator and installed fireplace wraps, deck handrails, staircases, and more. Matt became a licensed California Contractor in 2021.

Age West Industries was founded by Matt Stanton in 2020 with a vision of starting a metal fabrication company that creates timeless custom pieces. With a dedication to building long-lasting relationships, Matt helps his clients solve their construction challenges, takes the confusion and stress out of the process, and makes it fun along the way. With its fabrication shop located in San Rafael, Age West serves San Francisco and the surrounding bay area.
